Arnhold Education Opportunities (AIRBEL)

1    INTRODUCTION
AIRBEL is a one-year project aiming to improve the professional growth and instruction standards of 123 selected teachers in Kunduz and Bamiyan provinces through in-person and distance learning, identifying and filling educational practice gaps.
2    PROJECT GOAL 
The initiative aims to improve teacher professional development by offering IVR-SMS support to remote teachers, offering a free call-back service, and improving virtual and distance support for students unable to attend classes due to natural disasters or pandemics.

3    OBJECTIVES OF THE AIRBEL PROJECT
The initiative aims to enhance the professional development of 123 CBE/ALP teachers, particularly those in rural areas, through IVR-SMS Chabot's and EdTch technology. These tools will provide ongoing assistance, enhance pedagogical approaches, and provide better virtual and remote support during disruptions.
4    PROJECT BENEFICIARIES:
Overall, 123 ALP/CBS Male and Female teachers in the targeted Bamiyan and Kunduz Provinces. 

5    EXPECTED RESULTS:
All 123 Male and Female teachers have received in-person professional core training in the Education sector, furthermore, they received the technical Education relevant SMS and IVR contents through the technology Intelligent Instructor (Chatbot) from a distance and have brought a positive change in their behavior, profession and during the end-line survey the confess, it is very useful project and requested form AABRAR and IRC to keep continue this project and scale up the project to other province as well.
6    DURATION:
The Arnhold Education Opportunities (AIRBEL) project is a one-year pilot project that was started on 01-September-2023 and ended on 31 August 2024.

7    LOCATION:
The Arnhold Education Opportunities (Airbel) project is implemented in the (Aqtash) district of Kunduz province and (Shebar, Saighan, and, Bamiyan center) of the Bamiyan Province. 
8    DONOR:
The AIRBEL project donor was the International Rescue Committee (IRC) with a 40967 USD budget.
