Project Description:
Overall objective of this project is to improve health sector trades and profession by advancing and improving midwifery, physiotherapy and prosthetics orthotics technicians.
Provision of midwifery services for two years in Bamyan province will focus on developing a professional team of midwives and community midwifery assistants who will efficiently be capable of delivering maternal and child health services in remote areas and they will play crucial role in assisting for maternal services and most important reducing maternal and neonatal mortality rates by identifying and managing obstetric complication and ensuring at risk and high risk expectant mother are identified and linked to appropriate services for strengthening the link to essential healthcare services to pregnant women, new mothers, and new born through managed referral pathways.
Midwives will also be responsible for promoting reproductive health by providing information and education to women and families about family planning, contraception, management of referral pathways in emergency and coordination with health sector and the project will focus on training and deploying professional Midwives in the targeted locations of remote communities of Bamyan to provide essential maternal and child healthcare services to women and children in the region.
Furthermore, we will provide professional training of physiotherapy and prosthetic / Orthopedic technician for two years to make them capable of treating PWDs patients with increase access to intermediary health services for patients who urgently require health services and the project main target areas are underserved communities and people in need and a supportive, uplifting and inspiring learning environment is considered the right of every trainee.

Progress Made:
Bamyan (All 8 Districts)
• Overall, 13545 beneficiaries have been provided midwifery services and consultation in 160 villages of 8 districts of Bamyan province.
• 749 ANC cases provided services
• 449 PNC cases provided services
• 272 new born children provided health care services
• 5668 counselling cases of young girls at reproductive age
• 100 referral cases to other health clinics.
• 6407 health awareness cases of male by CMA (Behave with pregnant women and primary health care.
Ghor
• First semester of the 24 PO & PT students are completed successfully
• 26 subjects were taught during the six-month semester.
• Two separate practical classes have been organized for students’ practical lessons.
• PT and PO separate training rooms are well organized and equipped with all the necessary machinery and raw materials.
